Favorite Eateries

Breakfast

Whether you need a quick bite after class, are going downtown on a Friday night, or hanging out with your best friends, downtown State College has the best places to go. Looking for a yummy breakfast place? Irvings or Saxbys are my two favorite places to go. Located on campus in the business building, Saxbys is an easy stop if you’re heading to class or need to get something quick in between classes. They have breakfast sandwiches, coffee drinks, and quick to-go snacks. Hungry for lunch too? Saxbys has it all. It’s always good to support your local businesses and if you’re looking to do that Irvings is the place to go. They are located downtown across from Old Main lawn. It is easy to get to especially from the engineering building and has THE BEST egg, ham, and cheese sandwiches. I always am sure to order a Mocha Mama or their State Patty’s milkshakes! They recently updated their website to have online orders too!

Quick Bite

If you are looking for a quick bite or a meal not as filling I definitely recommend Fiddlehead, Snap Pizza, Roots, or Yallah Taco. These are some of the new favorites in town and definitely have some trendy vibes. My favorite is the famous Snap Pizza. Walk in, order at the end, pay, and enjoy your personal amazing pizza! Snap also has some of their signature pizzas such as the Mac ‘n’ Cheese pizza, Sweet n’ Slow, Farmer’s Market, and the Kennett Square. Snap pizza is definitely a place to be addicted to!

Dine-In

My favorite place to eat in State College will forever be Baby’s Diner. The famous Whimpy basket and added mocha milkshake are two things I crave all the time. Baby’s is a 50s styles diner with juicy burgers, crisp fries, and addicting milkshakes. The aesthetic is also one of my favorite parts. Be careful though, during football weekend this spot is alumni central and you won’t get a spot! If you are looking to dine-in, the Corner Room, Federal Taphouse, and the Tavern are landmarks in State College. They are all great American style restaurants that are perfect for a family dinner, dinner with friends, or a cute date; ) There are SO many amazing food places in State College to try! Can you get to all of them before you graduate? Try it! See the link below to start your checklist.
