Where to Study

You may not be thinking about it in the beginning of the semester, but finals week always approaches quickly. Finals can be quite intimidating but don’t get too stressed. We are here to provide you with some tips and tricks.
Most quiet places to study are taken and overly crowded during finals week, such as the stacks in the library. Most days during the semester, you will have a selection of seats there, but not during finals. You may get lucky though to find a nice seat at a desk with the Starbucks just down the steps. Here’s a list of other places to check out during the semester or especially during finals to study in...

1. The Library.    Whether it’s Pattee or Paterno, the library offers many spots like tables, computers, or desks. This whole area maybe very crowded during finals week though.
2. The Davey Library in Osmond.     This library offers more space for groups with lots of bigger tables but has nice individual desks too. Davey is also right across from the Hub.
3. The Hub.     Not my favorite because of many distractions, but if you can tune out noise and find a seat at a table, this may be a great spot for you to stay all day.
4. Your Residential Hall.   I lived in west but have visited the other halls and most have rooms or tables where you can do work. Also, the commons have areas where you can study.
5. Hammond.    Kunkle Lounge is great, you’ll see on WEP Wednesdays.
6. Any empty classroom in any building.   During finals week, there are no classes so all the rooms are unoccupied. My friends and I love going to a room and being able to use the projector/ chalkboards.

Everyone has different preferences on places to study, but do not stress you will find the perfect spot for you. Timing can be key during finals... as they say, the early bird gets the worm.
